Privacy Policy
Effective 31 July 2026. This policy explains what information home-star.info collects, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Home Star (“we”, “us”) operates the website home-star.info, an independent editorial guide to premium casino hotels in Canada. Our office is at 1200 Bay Street, Suite 500, Toronto, ON M5R 2A5, Canada. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
2. Information we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us and minimal technical data required to run the site:
- Contact form data — your name, email address and message, used solely to respond to your enquiry.
- Support chat messages — processed in your browser to generate answers; conversations are not stored on our servers.
- Technical data — anonymised server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and performance.
- Cookie preferences — stored locally in your browser; see our Cookie Policy.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to answer enquiries, maintain the security and performance of the site, and understand aggregate readership patterns. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, we do not build advertising profiles, and we send no marketing email unless you explicitly request it.
4. Sharing
Information is shared only with service providers that host our infrastructure, under contracts requiring confidentiality, or where disclosure is required by law. No data is shared with casino operators or hotels we review.
5. Retention
Contact enquiries are retained for up to 24 months, then deleted. Server logs are rotated within 90 days. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
6. Your rights
Under PIPEDA you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and withdraw consent to its processing. Write to editorial@home-star.info; we respond within 30 days. If unsatisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
7. Security
Access to personal data is limited to editorial staff who need it, protected by encryption in transit and access controls at rest. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we review our safeguards regularly.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a new effective date.
